Description:

Footsteps of John Paul II, who was The great men not only for the Catholics. Thanks to him the changeover from communism to democracy went through smoothly. He was supporting the Solidarity movement. It had an influence on Polish history.

The route is located in the south of Krakow at the foot of Carpathian mountains. You will have opportunity to see beautiful landscapes of southern part of Poland

Wadowice – small town, located 50 km of Krakow, the birthplace of John Paul II. You will see the parish Church of Karol Wojtyla – original name of John Paul II, his home and places connected with his childhood and the time when he was a teenager.

Kalwaria Zebrzydowska – small town with an interesting history. It was founded by the Zebrzydowski family. They built a complex of monastery with the church, the Calvary and the chapels devoted to the Crucifixion of Jesus. This devotional complex with the Shrine of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is visited by over million pilgrims every year. The complex with basilica and park was listed at the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999. This place was visited by John Paul II during his first and last pilgrimage to Poland.

Lagiewniki and Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy is famous around the world thanks to the simple nun sister Faustina Kowalska. She is called – secretary of Devine Mercy and this sanctuary is a place of her burial. She was canonized by John Paul II in this place.
