Auschwitz-Birkenau is a must if you are in Poland

Auschwitz Birkenau concentration camp it is a place where Germans created concentration camp. During the war about 1,5 million people were killed in this place, mostly Jews from different European countries. The name Auschwitz is a german version for the town  Oswiecim in polish, where Germans created this place to kill mass of the people. Auschwitz was liberated in January 1945 by Soviet’s army. Auschwitz – Birkenau is listed at UNESCO Heritage Site

This concentration camp was divided into 3 parts: KL Auschwiz (Auschwitz I),  Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) and Monowitz. Nowadays it is possible to visit 2 parts – Auschwitz and Birkenau. It is possible to see approximately 150 original buildings and barracks,  300 ruins fences, towers, roads and railway ramps. This tour is not recommended for the teenagers under 16 years old.

ITINERARY

*private transport from agreed upon meeting location to Auschwitz about. 80 km- 1. 5 h drive
*guided tour in a group in the Auschwitz Camp (about 2, 5 hours). Camp has their own guides.
*transfer to KL Auschwitz II – Birkenau ( around 2km).
*guided tour in the Birkenau Camp (about 1-1, 5 hours).
*return from Auschwitz to your Krakow’s hotel c. a. 80 km- 1. 5 h drive.

Auschwitz tours are guided by local museum educators (sound system is provided).

*Prisoners and guards’ daily belongings

*Original sight of the camp untouched since IIWW
*Proofs of crime and methods of extermination 
*Original buildings and ruins
*Wooden sanitary and accommodation barracks for prisoners
