Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and the Place Commemorating Victims of World War 2
Auschwitz Birkenau is one of the most famous concentration camps created during World War II by Nazi Germany. During the War about 1. 5 million people were killed in this place. There were two camps established in the outskirts of the city Oswiecim: (Auschwitz in German) and Birkenau, both liberated in January 1945. Auschwitz – Birkenau is listed at UNESCO Heritage Site.
The museum combines the area of KL Auschwitz (Auschwitz I) in Oświęcim and the Birkenau camp (Auschwitz II) in Brzezinka. Approximately 150 buildings, 300 ruins fences, towers, roads and railway ramps have been preserved.

Tours in Auschwitz Museum are guided by local Museum educators (sound system is provided). The tour is walking only, indoor and outdoor.
Note: There is limited number of visitors every day. I could book tickets in advance ( there is no extra fee for booking).
It is possible to visit Auschwitz, without educator, with no fee.
